Calcifer x Fairydust - Ghibli Fan Art

Calcifer and the fairydusts (Susuwatari) are two of my favorite Ghibli characters. If I were to draw them together, I imagined the fairydusts would emerge from the ashes left behind by the firewood Calcifer had burned. This would be before Sophie arrives at the castle, so Calcifer might be trying to clean up on his own. Only to find that every time he sweeps, more fairydusts pop up behind him.
